Bowflex: Customer Feedback & Reviews

Pros:2.5 pound increments, sturdy and durable, there is always a great workout available
Cons:sometimes the plates catch on the lock, not often
The Bottom Line:This is the greatest workout product I have ever used or heard and there is always a great workout to be performed -- no matter which part of the body.

Pros:Smallest increments, almost instant weight adjustment, very little space required.
Cons:Price, size of dumbbells.
The Bottom Line:If you're serious and can afford them, these are the best - period!

I was reluctant due to the price but took the plunge anyway - and I don't regret it now despite the price. What sold me (over PowerBlocks, Hoist, etc.) was the superior ease of use and especially the smaller weight increments.

The Selecttech dumbbells are quicker and easier to adjust than PowerBlocks, Hoist, or any basic adjustable set. Only individual dumbbells would be faster, but not by much.

This unit is extremely sturdy and well put together. I was a bit nervous to buy this because I have young kids I did not want to trash it. Believe me, they couldn't! This is far too well-designed and durable.

Worked out for about an hour, and I love it. Lots of exercises you can do (both muscular and cardio) and you can really feel it.

This machine is great! It allows me to get a full workout in half the time it takes to go to the gym.

I ordered this item and received it today. I assembled it without difficulty, and I am very pleased. The package arrived exactly on time. The machine operates very smoothly! If you are looking for an inexpensive piece of equipment and still want to get quality, I would recommend the Bowflex PR1000.

Bowflex cardio equipment includes a traditional treadmill and several models of their patented TreadClimber, a 3-in-1 machine that combines the movements of a treadmill, elliptical and stairclimber.

The Bowflex Home Gym:

Bowflex Home Gyms can be useful for people who want achieve and maintain a general level of muscular fitness.  They're easy to store and easy to use.

Changing resistances and exercises is fairly easy to do.  And you won't need a spotter for most of the exercises.  The Bowflex is safe for most people, and has even been used in rehabilitative settings.

Further, working out with the Bowflex may result in less muscle soreness than free weights, especially for beginners. Bowflex seems to require less negative work on the muscles - that is, stress when the muscle is lengthening to return to its starting position -- than free weights.  Exercises that require lots of negative activity can lead to significant muscle soreness, especially in beginners.

For people trying to lose weight, a Bowflex Home Gym is as an excellent source of resistance training to supplement daily cardio exercise and a reduced-calorie diet.
